Sicamous Creek Trails | Sicamous
Looking to cool down on those hot Shuswap summer days? The trails surrounding Sicamous Creek offer a refreshing scene to enjoy the mist of a waterfall, explore the diverse forest, have a picnic, or get a great workout!
Sicamous Creek Falls is located a short drive off of Highway 97A just outside of Sicamous and is totally family-friendly!
The Falls:
The Sicamous Creek Waterfalls are some of the best in the area! A huge boulder in the center of the creek creates an incredible scene, with water cascading down both side of the enormous natural structure. Beautiful green water pools gives a summer oasis vibe here!
The Trails:
The Sicamous Creek Trails is a network of trails that provides something for everyone, from the youngest to the fittest! There are two trails that take you to experience the creek, the Waterfall Trail is the main one, and off to the west side of the parking lot is another, called the Creek Trail. There is also a more difficult trail called the Upper Loop Trail.
The Creek Trail: Here you meander down through the forest to a small and quaint rec site near the creek bed. There is a picnic table, forested shade, and great views of Sicamous Creek!
This a great trail for the littlest of hikers! Kids will enjoy the little plants and flowers along the trail and in the early summertime, wild strawberries and other B.C. native berries can be found. Exploring along the creek bed, climbing boulders is so much fun and seems to be a family favorite!
The Waterfall Trail: This is a short and sweet adventure that is good for all levels, and surely the kids will love it! It is a well-maintained, recently upgraded, easy hike through a lush and dense forest. The canopy above is rich and diverse and provides welcoming shade on those hot Shuswap days!
This little adventure down to the falls takes only 5 minutes. Visitors are asked to stay on the trail and in the designated viewing areas.
The Upper Loop Trail: This is a little more difficult, a series of switchbacks lead you to the old forestry road, keep right and find the wooden bench to sit and catch your breath while taking in the scenic canyon below. Wonderful views of Mara Lake, the creek canyon, and beyond can be seen on the Upper Loop Trail.
The edges are steep, keep back!
Sicamous Creek is a tributary to Mara Lake. And Mara Lake is connected by the Sicamous Narrows to the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake at the townsite of Sicamous.
Great amenities, scenic hiking, and easy roadside access make this a perfect spot to explore!
